Hygiene Care

Regular cleanings make your smile shine! They prevent a build-up of stains, keep your gums in top shape and clear away harmful bacteria. Consistent dental cleanings keep your teeth and gums healthy and can aid in the reduction of your risk for heart disease and strokes. And if you do have periodontal disease, don't worry; with our new technologies, such as ultrasonic scalers, we make treatment of this disease more thorough and comfortable than ever before.

Periodontal Treatment

Without your gums to hold your teeth in place, your smile would be nonexistent. Healthy gums are the first step to complete oral health. Taking care of periodontal problems is how we begin dental treatment with our new patients. More people lose teeth from periodontal disease than cavities. We want your restorative treatments to last. Healthy gums are critical for that to happen.

The bacteria that cause periodontal disease have also been linked to serious health problems such as heart diseases, poor circulation leading to diabetic concerns, strokes, premature and low birth weight babies and even certain types of cancers. When we treat periodontal disease, our concern is for your overall health, not just your teeth. More than 85 percent of people have some level of periodontal or gum disease. Why? Often, it is misdiagnosed or simply ignored. We use advanced training and technology to diagnose and treat periodontal disease before it becomes a major threat to your health.

Symptoms

There often are no symptoms. Gums can recede, leaving teeth vulnerable to decay, abscesses and tooth loss - all without any bleeding or tenderness. But many people have at least minor symptoms, which can include the following:

  • Bleeding when brushing or flossing
  • Puffiness or tenderness of the gums
  • Halitosis (bad breath)
  • Loose-feeling teeth

Available Treatment

We have all the newest technologies to make your treatment more accurate, comfortable and predictable than ever before. It is now possible to reverse and even cure gum disease and solve the aesthetic and comfort difficulties that accompany the disease.

Periodontal disease presents itself with a build-up of plaque and tartar causing bacteria in the pockets in your mouth. One of the first steps in cleaning and healing your gums is to remove the buildup with our ultrasonic scaler. The scaler has a very small scaling tip that produces a soft ultrasonic vibration. These ultrasonic vibrations are combined with a delicate jet of water to provide us with a gentle and effective method of removing calculus and reducing the number of harmful bacteria below the gum line.

If we detect infection, we will apply an antibiotic solution directly into the pocket after it's been scaled and planed to promote healing. We might feel that it is necessary to prescribe a course of oral antibiotics to further combat the infection. Once the source of infection has been removed, your gums will begin to heal, and tighten around your teeth.

Our high-tech lasers can also aid in diagnosing the disease and treat your gums without pain or bleeding.

Restorative Care

Healthy and Metal-Free Restoration and Repair

Sound, strong teeth - they keep your jaw balanced, let you enjoy all kinds of food and are the gleam in your smile. It's what nature intended. But life can take its toll on your teeth and they can become cracked, worn-down or decayed. That's when our advanced restorative procedures come into play. We offer all kinds of restorations, from metal-free fillings and bonding to crowns, bridges and dentures to keep your mouth healthy, whole and, best of all, beautiful.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns

A crown, also called a cap, is a custom-made restoration that repairs and strengthens a tooth that has fractured, has a large cavity, an old filling that has failed, or has had root canal therapy. Unlike an inlay or onlay, a crown completely covers the tooth.

High-Tech Dental only uses caps fabricated of all-porcelain for strength, endurance and appearance. Crowns can also be used for cosmetic purposes, enhancing the appearance of a tooth that is discolored or misshapen.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge (or pontic) is a custom-made false tooth or teeth that are permanently placed between two healthy teeth, filling in the area left by a missing tooth or teeth. The bridge is held in place by porcelain crowns placed on the healthy teeth on each side of space to be filled.

High-Tech Dental creates bridges that are completely metal-free. Without metal, the bridge absorbs light, creating a natural looking smile. (Bridges made of porcelain on metal actually reflect light, creating an "unnatural" look for the tooth or teeth.) As they are metal-free, they are also non-reactive to temperature changes, improving the fit, durability and comfort of the bridge.

Bridges reduce the risk of gum disease, help correct some bite problems and help improve speech.

Dentures

Better Dentures for Better Smiles

A denture is a removable appliance that replaces missing teeth and adjacent tissues. Made of resin and porcelain, complete dentures are used to replace all the teeth. When some healthy teeth remain, a partial denture can be used. A partial denture also keeps the remaining healthy teeth from shifting positions in the mouth.

Full and partial dentures improve chewing ability and speech, and support facial muscles. Dentures also enhance appearance.

Here at High-Tech Dental we offer precision-fit dentures that do more than replace the teeth. They are fit "neuromuscularly," meaning that they are precision-fit to provide the most optimum position for your jaw and bite. The results are attractive, secure dentures that allow you to speak, eat and smile with comfort and confidence.
